Sift

Privacy policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

Mohamad Darwich runs Sift. This page explains what we keep about you and why. The short version: we use your information only to find you jobs and help you land them, we never sell it, and you can delete it any time.

What we store

  • Account details: your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password.
  • Your search: the roles, level, kind of job, places and industries you want, your nationality if you choose to give it, the companies you follow, and the jobs you save or apply to.
  • Your CV: the text of the CV you upload, plus the facts Sift reads from it (skills, years of experience, level). We keep the text, not the original file.
  • What Sift makes for you: tailored CVs, interview prep and feedback.
  • Basic technical data: your IP address in short-lived limits that stop abuse, and error logs that help us fix problems.

Who else processes it

  • Your own AI assistant, if you choose to use it: when you press “Copy & open ChatGPT” (or Claude, or Gemini), Sift copies a request with the job posting and your CV for you to paste. What happens to it there is covered by that service’s own privacy terms and your settings with them. Sift never sends your CV to them itself.
  • Anthropic (AI), if Sift’s built-in AI is switched on: relevant parts of your CV and of job postings, to score fit, tailor CVs and prepare interviews. Anthropic doesn’t use this data to train its models.
  • Paddle (payments): if you buy Pro, Paddle handles your payment details as our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card.
  • Resend (email): your email address and the content of the emails we send you.
  • Railway (hosting): runs our servers and database.

Your CV is never shown to employers or other users. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.

Emails

We send account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password) and, if you keep them on, a daily email of new roles and alerts from companies you follow. Every one of those has a link to turn it off.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete your account from your profile and your data is removed right away, apart from payment records Paddle and we must keep for tax law, and backups, which roll off within 30 days.

Your rights

You can see and change your details in your profile, download your applications, and delete your account at any time. For a copy of everything we hold, or anything else about your data, email sifty.guide@gmail.com and we’ll reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how we use your data in a way that matters, we’ll email you first.
